Seeing as I’m completely obsessed with this time of the year I thought that I would write a post that focuses entirely on getting bedroom ready for these colder months ahead. I must say that each year that goes by, I develop a stronger love for autumn and all that comes with it. It’s not just the beautiful orange leaves that cover the pavements as I walk down the street or the excuse to wear cosy jumpers to my heart’s content, it is also the fact that I can dress my bedroom top to bottom with candles and blankets galore!

As the nights get darker and the days get shorter, we all tend to spend more time inside, snuggled up watching our favourite TV shows or curled up in a blanket reading a book. So I believe it is more important than ever to make sure we enjoy the space we create in our bedrooms, since we will be spending so much time in it. This is why I decided to put together my tips & tricks on how to get your bedroom ready for autumn, so that you look forward to spending time inside and enjoy your bedroom even more, throughout the darker months.

Candles are the perfect way to add that cosy feeling to your room now the nights are getting colder because candles provide you with a warm and peaceful atmosphere. The great thing about candles is they can be inexpensive and expensive so whether you are shopping on a budget or looking for something more luxurious; there is a candle for you. Whatever your budget there are a great range of candles on the market these days, making it a great accessory for a deliciously smelling room and cosying up in your room whilst your favourite candle flickers away in the background. Heaven.

Injecting a pop of autumnal colour is the easiest way I find to inject some colour into your room. You can inject colour by using flowers- these are especially great for creating a seasonal look as they are a temporary fixture to your room, which can be changed. The signature colour of autumn is a warm plumb colour so if you don’t want to inject colour by plants you could search around for some decorations that have a dark plumb tone.

Adding texture to your home will create depth and, if done correctly, a sense of luxury. Blankets are one of the easiest ways to add more texture, whilst doing a great job of keeping you nice and warm. They’re the perfect addition to any night in, either spent alone or with your family. When your blankets are not in use, why not place them over the the back of your dressing table/desk chair to accessorize your furniture.

Next, use low level lighting. Whether it’s the use of fairy lights or placing a lantern in the corner of the room, using low level lighting is essential for creating an autumnal, cosy atmosphere. Allowing you to get cosy and relax, whilst your favourite candle flickers away in the background, heaven!

I hope these tips were useful in helping you create the perfect autumnal home and that it gives you some inspiration as to how you can enjoy your inside space, come the dark nights. If you have any tips and tricks, please leave them in the comments below; I’d love to hear them. Have a lovely day!
